Act FAST Good Health Tips |
Food Selection • Enjoy a variety of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. • Eggs, meat, poultry, and fish are the most nutrient-rich foods, so even modest amounts meet our needs. • Use the good oils (like olive oil), but remember high heat destroys them. • Limit and eliminate trans-fats, high sugar, and high salt foods. |
Activity • Light to moderate exercise yields the greatest value for most people. • Sudden intense exertion can be deadly. • Keep the "mental muscles" strong and alive. Games, puzzles, reading, listening to music, dancing, and other activities are great for the brain. • Smoking is NOT "cool". It constricts blood vessels and increases the burdens of disease. It cuts life short. |
Supplementation • Eliminating Vitamin B-12 deficiency can prevent about one out of five cases of dementia. • One-half of vegetarians and four out of five vegans lack adequate amounts of Vitamin B-12 in their diet. • The Vitamin C found in supplements can damage or destroy precious Vitamin B-12. In fact, 1000 mg. or more can even cause Vitamin B-12 deficiency. |
Treatment • Control your blood pressure. • See a doctor who studies and understands drug interactions, side-effects, complications, and nutritional consequences of the diagnosis, treatment, cure, and prevention of disease. • Don t look upon medical diagnosis, remedies, and prescription drugs as "get out of jail free" cards that will cure all ills when you're caught "'breaking the laws" of GOOD HEALTH. |
